Emurua Dikirr MP Johana Ngeno has claimed that the Jubilee government betrayed him by sponsoring a petition challenging his election.

Ngeno, who was elected on a Kanu ticket, said that they had agreed with President Uhuru Kenyatta that the party would support the latter's bid during the repeat October 26 election.

The legislator spoke on Thursday during his homecoming ceremony at Emurua Dikirr, a day after the Narok High court upheld his victory in the August 8 poll.

Ngeno was accompanied by Kanu Secretary General Nick Salat and his lawyer Kimutai Bosek.

In the judgement, Justice Justus Bwononga said Ngeno was validly elected and dismissed the case filed by David Keter of Jubilee Party.

He said the petition lacked merit further stating that the exercise was free and fair.

"After the Supreme Court nullified the presidential elections, the president invited me to State House and pleaded with me to support him in the repeat elections and I did that."

"I campaigned for him and the president got more than 22,000 votes in my constituency," Ngeno said.

He added that soon after the repeat presidential elections, some of the top Jubilee leaders sponsored a petition against him contrary to what they had agreed with the president.

"In the agreement with the president, I did not expect that some Jubilee leaders will file case against me. They funded my rival in the case," Ngeno said.

However, the legislator said the president himself was not part of the leaders who wanted him out of his seat, but was quick to note that his arch-rivals have been plotting for his political downfall for a long time.

"It is sad that the same leaders coached many witnesses to testify against me in court that I was responsible of burning of houses, killing of people, and intimidation. I thank God I won the case despite their lies," he said.

He also noted that he was ready for the by-election in the event that the court decided to nullify his re-election.

"Even if they had subjected us to the ballot, I would have still won by a landslide. Voters are the ones who determine their leaders, not few individuals.

Ngeno declared political war against his opponents who sponsored the petition adding that it is now "payback time".

"They used all the means including government machinery to try and defeat me in the election but all were in vain," he said.

On his part, Salat said that the party will continue to support the Jubilee administration even though they were not considered recently Cabinet appointments.

"Tulisema tuko ndaaani ndaaani ndaaani ya Jubilee kabisa lakini sasa karibu inakuwa nje kidogo (We said that we were supporting the Jubilee fully but now it is seems we are outside) but we will continue to be loyal despite all these happenings," Salat said.

He also said that all is not lost as the party but hopes the Jubilee administration will consider them in the remaining slots which is due to be filled.
