Senate speaker Kenneth Lusaka has asked Bungoma governor Wycliffe Wangamati to stop sacking county workers who were employed during his(Lusaka's) tenure.

He criticized the governor for engaging in mass sackings of former employees without any concrete reasons.

Speaking in Bungoma over the weekend, Lusaka blamed Wangamati for victimising the employees because they supported him (Lusaka) during the last elections.

Read:

''If they have failed to perform that's their own problem, but sacking them because they supported Jubilee then that is wrong,'' he warned.

'Most of these people who are being sacked are sole bread winners in their families. Where does he expect them to go?'' posed Lusaka.

When Wangamati took over the office, he first sacked all County Executive Committee members followed by public service board members whose term of office had not elapsed.

The service board members have since gone to labour court challenging their dismissal from office.

Lusaka promised Bungoma residents that despite him being the Senate speaker he will still be visiting the area to complete his unfinished projects.

''There are some projects I had initiated and I didn't finish them,I will be coming around to ensure that they are complete'' he assured.
