The anti-graft agency is investigating the Kisii county

over employment irregularities.

The Commission said that senior county officials have been arm-twisting the County Public Service Board (CPSB) to irregularly employ their friends, relatives and political supporters.

Investigating officers on Friday stormed the CPSB officials situated at Mwalimu Hotel and confiscated computers and crucial documents which will aid in their probe.

An investigating officer involved in the exercise but is not authorized to speak to the press, said that senior positions like directors and deputies were dished to relatives and friends of top county officials.

“The Commission has launched investigations in the county administration for massive bribery in employment,” he said

He said that preliminary investigations have confirmed massive irregularities in the recent employment carried out by the County Government.

The officer said that a cartel like structure has been existing where clanism, nepotism and bribery are the order of the day.

“The anti-graft agency is going to question senior county officials on the scam,” he said.

He disclosed that the commission will also carry out an audit of the staff from 2014 to ascertain whether they merit their positions.

The Commission’s South Nyanza Deputy Director Abraham Kemboi confirmed the search saying that they are going to exhaust all details to bring out the truth.

“I can confirm to you that our officers made an impromptu search at the same offices and confiscated documents and computers which will assist us in the investigations,” Kemboi told the Star in his office.
