Lawyer James Orengo has threatened to file a court case concerning NASA supporters injured or killed during anti-election protests in Machakos.

The Siaya Senator said he will sue Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet and Athi River OCS Peter Kiema over the killing of one person and the injuring of several others.

"I will present in court all victims of the shootings in Machakos county. I am going to personally file a case against the IG and he Athi River OCS."

He addressed NASA supporters shortly after visiting two victims at Athi River Medical Services Hospital in Mavoko sub-county on Saturday.

Orengo said there have been no reforms in the police service.

"Kenyan police are indisciplined. They should emulate their Tanzanian counterparts who are disciplined," he said.

"Lazima tupeleke polisi wa Kenya mafunzoni wajue wananchi wana mamlaka kikatiba (We must teach Kenyan officers that citizens have rights according to the constitution."

The Senator said Kenya will conduct free, fair and credible elections after 90 days whether President Uhuru Kenyatta likes it or not.

He said IEBC chief executive Ezra Chiloba, chairman Wafula Chebukati, acting Interior CS Fred Matiang'i and Boinnet must go home before the elections are conducted.

Orengo was with Mavoko MP Patrick Makau, former Senators Boni Khalwale (Kakamega) and Johnson Muthama (Machakos) and MCAs Robert Kisini (Athi River) and Daniel Mbevi (Mlolongo).

Makau gave Boinnet five days to clear the victims' hospital bills and compensate the family of the boy shot dead during the demonstrations.

Makau said he will return to Athi River after the five days lapse to give residents the way forward.

"The IG should compensate the family for the death of the form three boy. He had a future for himself and his family," he said.

"Sisi watu wa Mavoko tumekaa hapa na askari kwa amani kwa muda mrefu na sasa wanatuzoea. Usione simba amenyeshewa ukadhani ni paka (We in Mavoko have lived peacefully with police for long so they are starting to get comfortable. Don't think a lion that has been rained on is a cat)."

He continued: "I

was under house arrest at my Joska home last Wednesday after it was surrounded by more than 50 heavily armed police officers. Why couldn't they secure locals instead of surrounding my home?"

Makau further accused the Jubilee administration of profiling members of the Luo and Kamba communities.

"It is not only in Migori, Homa Bay Kisumu and Siaya, where police are killing innocent Kenyans, but also in Ukambani region. Jubilee is profiling Kamba and Luo communities."

Makau said the International Criminal Court should arrest leaders who have given police authority to kill Kenyans.

"i appeal to the people of Rift Valley and Central regions to support us in the struggle for the nation's liberation.

The ethnic slaves of Mt Kenya and the Kalenjin Nation...when we will set our country free you can also be free?"
