Addressing the press during the demonstration, their representative

Joyce Odhiambo from Nairobi said this was the fourth murder to be reported in the area.

“The sex workers who are engaging in the demonstration and drawn from various parts of the country are here to stand in solidarity with our colleagues following the heinous killings, the recent case being that of Brown who was murdered last week,” Odhiambo said.

was discovered and held prayers.

Odhiambo also ruled out claims that they are the ones who spreads HIV/AIDS.

She said the HIV

prevalence rate among common mwananchi is higher than theirs.

“We want to state here that we go for HIV tests regularly and those who think that we are the ones who spreads the virus are misplaced,” she added.

“The prevalence among the common mwananchi is higher that the that of sex workers” Odhiambo further said.

She urged the police to move with speed and bring to book those behind Brown’s killing saying that their rights must be protected.

“Some of us have families we take care by engaging in this business so our lives and rights must be protected at all costs,” said the sex worker.
