Masinde Muliro lecturers join dons’ strike

Lecturers of Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology have joined their counterparts from other public universities in a countrywide strike which began on Wednesday.

Speaking to journalists in a Kakamega hotel on Wednesday, University Academic Staff Union chairman of the Masinde Muliro University chapter Robinsom Oduma said they would not go back to work if the government does not meet their demands

Oduma said the government has not honoured their 2013-2017 collective bargaining agreement signed between UASU and the government

The lecturer said the 21-day strike notice to the government ended on October 31 and lecturers are on a legal strike
