Some 18 people were rescued after their bus got stuck in flood waters following heavy rains in Kolimorok in Turkana county.
Kenya Red Cross official Michael Ayiebei on Saturday said four children were among those rescued.
“One woman who was injured after the accident has been rushed to Lodwar County Referral Hospital,” he said.
He said the Eldoret Express Bus was heading to Lokichar at the time of the incident.
Motorists using the Kitale-Lodwar road have been asked to be careful after heavy downpour destroyed Kainuk Bridge.
In Elgeyo Marakwet, transport has been paralysed on most roads following heavy rains in the North Rift region.
Governor Alex Tolgos said roads have been covered by debris, making them impassable.
“We have talked to NYS and we have agreed to work together in mobilizing machinery to clear debris on our roads,” Tolgos said during Mashujaa Day celebrations in Iten.
Roads affected are Iten-Kapsowar, Kapcherop-Cheptongei, Liter-Arror, Cheptongei-Kapyego and Arror-Iten.
Tolgos asked farmers to unblock drainage areas to reduce flooding on the roads.
County commissioner Fredrick Ndambuki said the national and county government will work together to clear the roads.
Ndambuki said the rains have hindered transportation of mangoes from the Kerio Valley to markets outside the county.
“We have experienced unusually heavy rains and we have been informed that the rains will continue,” Ndambuki said.
He said Soka Bora on Liter-Arror road, Marakwet East and Duka Moja on Iten-Kapsowar, Keiyo North are worst hit.
“It is difficult to drive along Iten-Eldoret especially at night. We have urged the ministry to clearly mark this road,” he added.
