IEBC will on Friday conduct end-to-end functionality tests on the Kenya Integrated Elections Management System kits.

Chairman Wafula Chebukati told journalists the equipment will show the voter identification and results transmission process.

He said on Thursday that two more tests will be carried out before voting day on August 8.

"It is important to note he commission has so far received 35,000 KIEMS gadgets. The last batch will arrive before June 13," Chebukati said, adding

, 11,000 kits have been dispatched for verification.

Chebukati said the commission is set to officially receive the voter verification report from KMPG.

The audit firm has been combing through the voters' register since May 9

to weed out names of dead voters.

"The commission is duty bound to implement the report's recommendations. The same will be sent to Parliament," the IEBC boss said.

Chebukati noted the recommendations will help the commission build an accurate and credible register of voters ahead of the general election.

He added IEBC has organised a trip for key stakeholders to witness the printing of ballot papers in Germany.

"We assure Kenyans that all necessary materials needed for this election will be procured in good time," he said.

Chebuka also said the company contracted to print the ballot papers has a reputation of efficiency and is also reliable in terms of delivery.

"We are confident ballot papers will be delivered in good time," he noted, adding

prices offered by the company were competitive and within normal market rates.

The commission has so far cleared 14,552 candidates for the election. Chebukati reported that of those cleared, nine

per cent are women and 13 per cent youths.

"We received a total of 372 disputes all of which have been heard," he said.
