IEBC has cleared Nyando MP Fred Outa to vie for the Kisumu Senate seat.

Outa presented his nomination papers to the commission on Sunday at Tom Mboya Labour college

He expressed confidence that he will beat his opponents in the August 8 polls. He noted that IEBC is more organised and was happy with the process.

"If you have the documents you need to clear in the process, it will only take you less than 45 minutes to conclude," he said.

Outa said as once elected he will curb the misuse of funds in the county government.

"I will not push for more funds only to watch it being misused or mismanaged but will ensure that everything is done free of corruption," he said.

The MP said he wants good governance and development within the city and hopes that senator Anyang Nyong’o clinches the seat for the governor.

"I want to fight for more resources in Kisumu county," she said, adding that she hopes to be the first elected female Senator.
