ODM leader Raila Odinga has cautioned President Uhuru Kenyatta against the "state crackdown" on Hassan Joho saying he risks impeachment.

He strongly censured Uhuru following the Mombasa Governor's tribulations, saying he was abusing his powers.

Speaking at

Orange House on Tuesday, Raila said the

impeachment option will be pursued if Uhuru does not live by the constitution.

He said long gone is

the era when Uhuru's father, Mzee Jomo Kenyatta, threatened Kenyans about "crushing them like maize flour".

"A tiger does not show its tigritude," he said, emphasising that Uhuru must not show Kenyans he is in charge.

The Opposition leader said it was against the law for the head of state to harass people in the name of disciplining them because of ideological differences.

"What the President is doing is dictatorial and illegal," Raila told hundreds of Bunge la Mwananchi caucus members.

Joho's tribulations include investigations alleged links to drug trafficking and revocation of his firearm license.

The Governor also ran into trouble after he questioned Jubilee's projects at the Coastal town.

This culminated into the county boss being barred from attending Uhuru's relaunch of Mtongwe ferry services.

Joho is at the DCI headquarters on Wednesday amid investigations into the authenticity of his academic papers.

He earlier denied that he forged his KCSE certificate to pursue a course at the University of Nairobi, and accused Jubilee of being behind the claims.

KRA has also frozen the Governor's accounts at Stanbic bank and is also probing other accounts at Diamond Trust Bank.

Regarding the August 8 election, Raila said the National Super Alliance will post 10 agents to all polling stations across the country.

He also defended the decision to have a parallel tallying centre.

Raila told Jubilee to stop being scared of the plan aimed at curbing the rigging of election.

He said media houses should be encouraged to stream results of the polls live to ensure accuracy.

"In America, you all see how the media relays real time election results on television. That should be the case in Kenya."

"Jubilee leaders are afraid of defeat. That is why that have resorted to gagging the media," said the ODM leader.

"The media shall transmit the election results. That is something we are not about to compromise."

Raila asked members of the public to be vigilant and protect the vote on election day.

"You must wake up very early in the morning to vote. Then stand firm and guard the vote," he said.
