Kenya National Union of Teachers chairman Mudzo Nzili has said the ongoing efforts by the Education ministry to curb cheating in national exams are appropriate measures of ensuring education standards remain undiluted.
He said Kenya’s high-ranking education system was on the verge of collapse due to previous exam leakage, which threatened its

standards and calibre. Nzili said Knut recognises the good work done in the ongoing exam supervision and believes the exercise is progressing well, as those involved are doing their best.
“We applaud the Cabinet Secretary and those charged with this important exercise for doing an exemplary job and ensuring our national exams remain untainted,” he said at St Teresa Catholic Church in Kiamwangi, Gatundu South on Friday.

Nzili attended the funeral service of Jemima Gikui Kioni, the wife of Kenya’s first post-Independence Knut secretary general Stephen Joseph Kioni.

Former Knut secretary general Francis Ng’ang’a also attended.
