Several senior politicians are being investigated for the illegal importation of ethanol, Interior CS Joseph Nkaissery has said.

Nkaissery said on Saturday that

security agencies have profiled several senior politicians alleged to be key players in the illegal racket. He did not name them.

“Once they have established facts surrounding the claims, I will make a public pronouncement and take legal action on them,” he said in Kajiado town.

The CS's remarks followed

Gatundu MP Moses Kuria's call for Raila's arrest for allegedly using his company to supply ethanol

in the country.

He did not specifically address the MP's allegations against Raila.

Kuria threatened to arrest the opposition leader and hand him over to Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet.

The MP said he will do so if Boinnet does not order Raila's arrest after KRA and EACC detectives nabbed a consignment with illegal ethanol.

He claimed the seized goods were destined for Spectre International.

Raila's spokesman Dennis Onyango said they were not aware of the claims.

"That information belongs to Kuria. We cannot comment on such baseless rumors. We cannot and will not play such games," Onyango said.
