Hundreds of residents in Mbitini ward, Makueni county, face acute
water shortage following the drying up of wells and rivers.
The worst affected areas are Emale, Mutanda, Maiini, Ngoto and Kwangani.
The residents are now trekking 25-30km to get water from the neighbouring Mutiswa location.
Water vendors are now selling a 20 litre jerrican at ksh.20-30 instead of
ksh.10.00
claiming they were they were fetching the water from far distance.
