Nominated MP has warned parents against hiding children suffering physical disabilities in the pretext of saving the family's face from the public.
The legislator said in Samburu on Sunday that such acts of discrimination must not be allowed and that the affected children must be assured better living conditions.
He made the comments at an orphanage for the physically handicapped in the county.

well wishers
to ensure disabled children get treatment.

Mwaura, who is Kenya disability parliamentary association chairman, asked parents to ensure all children get education, medical attention and other needs.
"We don't want those with disabilities to be hidden or punished. God has a plan for everybody. Let them be known so that they can be helped," said Mwaura.
The MP was accompanied by nominated senator Naisula Lesuuda, Samburu county women representative Maison Leshoomo and other local leaders.
He further asked people facing various disabilities to seek election in the coming general elections for better representation.
The politicians donated food, clothes and wheel chairs to more than 200 destitute children from Samburu.
