Wandayi tells ODM 'rebels' to defect before party nominations

Opiyo Wandayi has asked 'ODM rebels' and party members who are not comfortable in the party to leave before

2017.

The MP, who is also the director for elections in ODM, said no aspirant will be allowed to leave the party after the nominations.

"The party will not allow any member to defect so whoever is not comfortable better jump ship before we hold nominations," Wandayi said on Monday.

The Budalang'i MP quit citing

harassment and disrespect despite his efforts to market the party under the opposition's Cord coalition.

He had earlier complained of frustration since taking over from Kisumu Senator Anyang' Nyong'o.

Funyula MP Paul Otuoma also resigned from the position of vice chairman in the party.

Ababu, who is Budalang'i MP, said he joined the opposition party believing the people's personal and national dreams would be fulfilled.

"If the dreams of the people of Busia are not getting fulfilled in this party, we will make a different decision," he said.
