Reformed Naivasha 'vampire' leaves hospital after mob attack

The man accused of has been discharged from Naivasha subcounty hospital.

Geoffrey Matheri alias Fongo

was attacked and seriously injured by a mob

on Monday

in Rwanyambo village, Kinangop.

Fongo

had been in custody for more than seven years over murder cases that have since been thrown out.

He was attacked after the High Court set him free.

Fongo's uncle Peter Matheri said he is a “completely changed man" but

expressed fears that unknown people wanted to kill the former street boy.

Hospital

superintendent Joseph Mburu

said Fongo was released after recovering from his head, back and leg injuries.
