A 31-year-old man is recuperating at the Nairobi Women’s hospital in Nakuru after his private parts were chopped off by a lover.
“My sister called me at around 4:00 pm yesterday, and informed me that my son had been attacked with a knife and his private parts had been chopped off. I headed to hospital where he had been rushed after the incidence,” the victim's mother said.
She said her son has been living with his grandmother in FreeArea Estate in Nakuru before the incident occurred.
“My son is not married and he lives with his grandmother at FreeArea estate since I am away working,” she said.
“The neighbours told me that my son came out of the house screaming for help saying that his private parts had been chopped off with a knife,” she said.
She said that the incident was shocking as his son is known to be a calm man.
“Although I am aware that he takes alcohol, I know him to be a calm man who does not engage in fights,” she added.
Angela Gwaro of the Gender Recovery Centre in Nakuru said the man was brought in on Monday evening bleeding profusely and was taken straight to the theatre for surgery.
Gwaro said his condition is stable and is responding well but he will be in the hospital for some time as the doctors monitor the progress.
The lover is said to have escaped after the Monday night incident.
The media was not allowed to interview the man since he was said to be under medications and need a bed rest.
