The High court has ordered the reinstatement of Kitutu Masaba MP Timothy Bosire's security detail pending the determination of his case.

Bosire bodyguards were withdrawn after his reluctance to honour fallen soldiers by standing up during the March 31 State of the Nation address by President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Justice Isaac Lenaola said the withdrawal of the MP's security raises "discrimination issues".

Bosire Internal CS Joseph Nkaissery and Inspector general of Police Joseph Boinett.

He said in a petition filed at the High Court on

Monday

that his rights have been violated.

The MP said his security detail was withdrawn with grave impunity and without any basis in law, leaving him vulnerable to risk and threats.

On March 10, Mombasa Governor

Hassan Joho stormed the Coast regional commander's office demanding an explanation after his security detail was withdrawn for allegedly engaging in election

malpractice during the Malindi by-elections.

Joho

termed the action against him by the "" as unconstitutional.

The matter will be heard on April 27.
