A five-year-old girl involved in the Sunday night crash near Ngata Bridge, Nakuru county, is searching for her parents. Seven people died, while six, including the five-yearold are being treated at Rift Valley Provincial General Hospital. Nursing officer Lucy Gichuru said her parents could be among those who died when a fuel tanker crashed into the matatu the girl was in.

The 11pm accident involved a North Rift Shuttle heading to Eldoret while the trailer was headed in the opposite direction. “Angela was brought to the facility the day of the accident. She had deep head injuries and a fracture on the right leg,” the nursing officer said. “We managed to stop the bleeding, stitched the cuts in the head and put a plaster on her leg.”

Angela is in stable condition. “However, she cannot say a lot due to her age,” Gichuru said. “She says her mother’s name is Stella Ebei and her father is Robert Matende. She also says she goes to Lake View Academy with her sister.” She appealed to relatives to contact the hospital.
