A woman lost a tooth and suffered a broken arm in a beating by her ex-husband in Kawangware, Nairobi, on Sunday morning.
Private schoolteacher Lydia Nyanchama said Stephen Omondi, a mechanic based in Westlands, beat her for not answering his phone calls.
"I had gone for an outing
in Dagoretti
on Saturday
when he called but I did not not answer because he chased me from his house in 2014 without a clear reason," Nyanchama said.
The woman who teaches at Light of God School said she found Omondi waiting outside her house when she returned the following morning.
She claimed he threatened to return and kill her after beating her.
Nyanchama said she went to
Mercy mission hospital in Kawangware for treatment and reported the assault
at
Muthangari police station.
She was given a P3 form but has asked police to quicken investigations and arrest the man as she fears for her life.
Omondi accepted the accusation saying he beat Nyanchama because he supports their child yet found her in a pub with another man.
