Some ODM legislators are contemplating taking IEBC to court if it fails to register every Kenyan aged 18 years.

The legislators said it is the right of every Kenyan of 18 years and above to get registered as a voter in the February 15-March 15 mass voter registration.

Speaking at Rakwaro Trading center in Karachuonyo constituency ODM Chiarman John Mbadi said the IEBC had plans of denying CORD supporters from their strongholds opportunity to register in large numbers.

“Our careful look on to the IEBC clearly deduce that there is conspiracy and plans for this electoral body to favour the Jubilee administration in 2017 polls .It wants to CORD supporters an opportunity to register effectively as voters,” Mbadi said.

Nyong’o said the party is ready with legal mechanisms of filing a court injunction against the IEBC if it fails it leaves anybody from registering in the elections.

"Every Kenyan has a right to be registered as a voter but IEBC has conspiracy of denying Kenyans their rights,” Nyong’o said.

He called on Kenyans who fail to get registered to come out after the next month’s exercise so that they initiate legal process.
