President Uhuru Kenyatta has sent condolences to Public Service, Youth and Gender Affairs CS Sicily Kariuki following the death of her mother-in-law, Lizzy Kariuki.

The President described Mama Lizzy as visionary, a role model, a teacher and a mentor to many.

“Mama Lizzy Njeri was a strong pillar to her family and was equally respectable in the community,” the President said.

He said Mama Lizzy was a committed Christian and played a pivotal role in the church.

“Let us be consoled that Mama Lizzy Njeri lived her life well in the Lord and has left an indelible mark on the lives of those she interacted with,” Uhuru said.

“My thoughts are with you at this time of sorrow and grief. It is my prayer that the Almighty God will give you the strength and courage to bear the loss.”

Mama Lizzy died last week and will be buried on Saturday at Tumaini in Nyandarua County.
