A man reportedly strangled his wife to death and then committed suicide in Marakwet East subcounty
on Tuesday night.
The couple's children found them dead in their bedroom when they went to check after they took too long to start their day.
Murkutwo chief Abraham Yano said reasons behind the incident at Katemuge village
have not been established.
Yano said the father of eight, who worked at a saw mill, was jovial when he returned home on Tuesday.
“He brought food for his family and even cleared debts at a nearby kiosk. We do not know what made him commit the crime,” he said.
The bodies were taken to Chesongoch mission hospital mortuary.
