The Pallav Ladies Association hosted the ‘Best Out of Waste’ art competition at the Navnat Bhavan on General Mathenge Drive in Nairobi on Wednesday morning. The event was hosted by members Ilasy Hirani, Darshana Parekh and Poonam Shah.
The competition brought together ladies to make pieces of art from discarded items so that they can be reused. There were dozens of entries and the winners were selected by the judge Divya Haria.
Arunaben Sanghrajka who made a bamboo stand for candles, flowers, spoon and napkin holders emerged tops followed by Renuka Modh who made household holders made using cornflakes box, ice ream box and waste cardboard bangle box.
