THE sons of slain drug baron Ibrahim Akasha want the High Court in Mombasa to strike out an appeal by the state that intends to deny them bail.

This is the second time the sons are appealing to be released on bond after the High Court cancelled their bond the day it was granted.

Baktash Akasha, Vijaygiri Anandgiri, Ibrahim Akasha and Gulam Hussein yesterday applied for their immediate release on stringent bail terms provided by a magistrate’s court on December 1 last year.

Through lawyers Kirathe Wandugi and Cliff Ombeta, they informed the court the application made by the state was incompetent and should be dropped.

A ruling will be delivered on February 9.
