Disabled boy locked in a sheep shelter saved

A disabled boy locked by his family in a sheep pen for the last 10 years at Majengo, Narok town has been rescued. The boy only identified as Ben is between 10 and 15 years old.

He was rescued by the National Council for Persons with Disabilities chairman David ole Sankok on Saturday. Neighbours said they never knew of the boy’s existence. They said they were shocked to see Sankok and journalists storm the house. They said they have always visited the home on many occasions but never knew about Ben.

A resident recently visited the home and saw Ben. He informed Sankok. Ben lives with his step- father, Jeremiah Busia, and three brothers.

He has lived in the pen with his hands tied to a wall post. His mother is said to have fled from home and left them with Busia.
