Former Budalangi MP Raphael Wanjala,
Joyce Akinyi and
three others were last night arrested at Isinya on Nairobi-Namanga highway on suspicion of drug trafficking.
The five were carrying white powder from Tanzania that is believed to be drugs when they were arrested on Tuesday night.
Police say they are yet to know the nature of the drugs and if the powder is narcotics.
Head of anti-narcotics unit Hamis Masa says they are detaining the five further investigations.
"We arrested them with a powder that we think is drugs. The powder has been sent to government chemists for further tests and analysis and we will know the nature of the narcotics," said Masa.
