Man who robbed judge Nzioka taken to court

A middle-aged man was yesterday taken to a Nairobi court and charged with robery with violence.

John Kiarie Kiguro, who appeared before chief magistrate Kiarie Waweru Kiarie, was accused of robbing justice Grace Nzioka and her husband Jeremy Kyeva Nzioka of property and cash valued more tha Sh400,000.

Kiguro was armed with an AK47 rifle.He is also charged with robbing two other people of their property.Prosecutor Bridget Kanyai said the accused should be denied bail and be remanded at Langata police station.

He said the suspect if given bond may interfere with investigations.The magistrate agreed to the request and ordered the accused to taken to the police station for three days.

Kiarie asked Kiguro to help police recover some of the stolen items.The accused robbed Nzioka of cash Sh40,000, a laptop valued at Sh100,000, an Ipad, Sh50,000 and a National Bank ATM card.

The incident took place on the night of January 23 at Hardy area in Langata district, Nairobi.On the same night Kiguro robbed Jeremy Kyeva Nzioka Sh20,750, a Sh5,000 Nokia phone, an Equity Bank ATM card and a TV set valued at Sh97,000.

He also stole, a Sony CD changer system valued at Sh45,000, three Afrigas cylinders valued at 30,000, a bag valued at Sh5,000 and assorted clothing valued Sh30,000, all value at Sh233,000.

Kiguro is also accused of robbing Denis Omangi Sh37,250 and other property valued at Sh43,250.The accused persons is further charged with violently robbing

Also robbed Stephen Kimani Gichuru cash Sh82,500 and other property all valued at Sh98,199 on the same dates and same place.
