ICPAK picks Grace Kamau as new CEO

She takes over from Edwin Makori who has been at the helm since 2017.

The Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) has appointed Grace Kamau the new CEO for a three year tenure beginning August 1.

She is currently serving as the CEO in acting capacity, a position she held since January this year.

Previously, she served as the director of finance and strategy at the institute and has also held various senior executive leadership positions in  other blue-chip organisations in the country and the region. 

She takes over from Edwin Makori who has been at the helm since 2017.

Commenting on the appointment, the council congratulated Grace saying the step marks a pivotal moment for the institute.

"This, as we embark on becoming a globally recognised hub of excellence for the accountancy fraternity," the council said.

She is expected to bring on board a wealth of vital experience and expertise in leadership, sound financial  management, strategy formulation and execution, stakeholder management, ICT, research and talent management.

Grace holds a PhD in Business Administration (Strategic Management) from the University of Nairobi. 

She also holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) (Strategic Management) degree from the same  university and a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) degree from Kenyatta University.

She is a Certified Public  Accountant (CPA) and a member of the institute , a Certified Investment and Financial Analyst (CIFA) and a member  of ICIFA.

Further, she holds membership in the Institute of Directors (IoD) and the Association of Women  Accountants in Kenya (AWAK).

Grace serves in various boards and committees in the  public, private and Not-for-profit organisations, both locally and internationally.
