Thirdway Party leader, Ekuru Aukot now wants President-elect William Ruto not to appoint candidates rejected by voters to his cabinet.

In a statement on Twitter, Aukot said Ruto should also not appoint them as ambassadors because they were loyal to him.

He insisted that the President-elect should hire people to his cabinet on account of competence.

Aukot urged the Ruto to break the routine of same people holding the offices in every government.

"To President Elect H.E William Ruto. I urge you not to appoint people rejected by voters on the ballot to cabinet and ambassadors. Don't hire people just because they are loyalists hire competence and skills break the culture of recycling. Good luck Mr President," he said.

His remarks come after Ruto was declared winner of the 2022 presidential election.

Aukot contested for the presidency in 2017 and lost. He tried again in 2022 but was not cleared by the IEB after failing to meet all requirements.
