Clinical workers in Nairobi on Thursday started their strike as they demanded
promotions, re-designation, signing of a recognition agreement and change in their health insurance provider.
Speaking outside City Hall, their secretary general Tom Nyakaba said they won't sign any deal with the county officials unless their grievances are addressed.
"We are not ready to retreat or surrender. We have met some few guys from the county including the Chief of Staff, Health CEC and assembly's health department, but we have said if our grievances will not be addressed in full we are not going to resume duty," he said.
"County officials have shown us that they are not people to
be trusted. They don't have good faith and we are not going to try and imagine they will have it," he said.

Their strike comes barely a week after county workers resumed duty after suspending their strike for 21 days to allow for dialogue with the Salaries and Remuneration Commission.
The strike that lasted 12 days hurt services in the various department.
Cleaners, clinicians and cemetery workers left their workstations unattended.
The cash office was closed and parking attendants were nowhere to be seen.
The 13,000 workers were demanding implementation of a 15-28 per cent salary increment.
