DCI detectives on Monday arrested a police officer attached to the Dog Unit in Nakuru for soliciting a bribe.
Elvis Ombati was nabbed after he attempted to extort money by threatening the manager of Njoro Huduma Nursing Home with arrest.
"He was accusing the management of illegal power connection," DCI said in a tweet.
"Upon interrogation, the officer admitted to threatening the management with arrest in order for him to be bribed."
The police officer had also claimed to be a DCI detective based at Nakuru Central police station, which was untrue.
"Investigations already commenced to nab his accomplices."
The officer will be charged with attempting to extort by threats.
