President Uhuru Kenyatta on Tuesday assented to the Supplementary Appropriation Bill allocating the government Sh47 billion to spend during the current financial year.
The law mandates the National Treasury to issue Sh47,254,066,048 from the Consolidated Fund for the provision of public services.
In the spending bill signed at State House, the
Judiciary has
been allocated Sh1.5 billion as promised by the president amid calls for review of the courts budget.
The State Department of Housing received Sh21 billion. The department is steering the affordable housing pillar of the Big Four agenda.
Others beneficiaries are the State Department of Public Works Sh1.5 billion, State Department of Tourism
Sh and the State Department of Wildlife has been assigned Sh873 million among others.
The Bill was presented to President Uhuru for signing by National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi.

Uhuru proposed additional funding for the Judiciary, the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations and the office of the Director of Public Prosecution.
Allocations in the new law reflect a significant reduction to what was given in the last financial year. This is aimed at cutting down government expenditure.
