Detectives in Webuye are looking for the gang that killed a class seven pupil on Tuesday night.

The robbers killed and hanged the body of the 15-year-old pupil in his bedroom in Malaha village.

They had raided the homestead to steal cows.

Misikhu Chief Paul Kisuya said the boy was attacked when he opened the door to peep at the thieves when he heard their dog barking.

“The reports that we have is that the deceased tried to open the door in order to peep at what was happening at the cowshed when the gang pounced on him and strangled him to death. They then hanged him using a shoelace,” said Kisuya.

The chief said the attackers were armed with crude weapons.

They escaped without stealing cattle after killing the boy.

“Police have launched investigations and soon the culprits will be arrested, we can’t allow such people to exist amongst us, they can run but they can’t hide,” he said.

Residents led by neighbour Sylvester Wasike asked police to conduct thorough probe and bring the perpetrators to book.

'We have never seen such an inhuman thing in this area before. We are shocked that someone can come to kill such a young soul and go away this is very evil,' he said.
