Two dormitories were on Sunday burnt down at Kenyatta Girls High School in Nakuru County.

One dormitory was completely razed down while fire burnt only the roof of the second one.

Bahati police boss Edward Wafula said investigations into the incident have been launched.

"Nothing was salvaged from the cubicles. As the fire spread towards the second dormitory, the fire brigade had arrived and acted immediately as the fire had started spreading to the roof," said the police boss.

"We’ve already launched investigation into the fire incidence. We’ve already interrogated some students," he said.

The dormitories housed more than 100 students.

The OCPD said no injuries were reported during the 1pm incident.

The school management could not be reached for comment.
