Fourteen suspects believed to have lynched Kapchonge deputy OCS in Tongaren constituency Bungoma North were on Tuesday charged in a Kimilili court.

Majority of them are boda boda riders. The 14 are among 27 suspects earlier arrested for killing Paul Kerich, a deputy OCS at Kapchonge police base in June.

The suspects did not take plea as the prosecution asked for 14 days for further investigation.

The suspects allegedly lynched Kerich after he shot dead a boda boda rider who was part of a protest against poor roads.

The incident took place at Ambich village.
