Drama unfolded at KNH on Monday after four UoN students were arrested for demonstrating against the facility.

About 30 students of the Kabete campus marched to the hospital carrying placards with

messages such as "We do not condone ignorance. #Quacksout".

They also chanted "KNH management must go" as they walked from Uhuru Park.

The protesters

were arrested outside KNH's Accident and Emergency wing. Three journalists were also apprehended for reasons that remained unclear.

The arrests were by

plain clothes police officers who took the seven to Kilimani Police Station.

Kenyatta National Hospital has been under fire following allegations of rape, the theft of a baby and the performance of a head surgery on the wrong patient.

The hospital says the two patients who underwent surgery are recovering but a family in Kitale has accused its doctors of being responsible for the death of University of Nairobi student Angelo Miano.

Miano was a second-year Bachelor of Commerce student at the institution.

The hospital terms reports on Miano misleading and says the public should ignore them.

Earlier today, more that 700 registrars went on strike demanding the reinstatement of their colleague who was suspended over the wrong surgery.
