Starehe MP Charles Njagua wants leaders of the national and county government to meet and find a streamlined manner of relocating hawkers from the CBD.
The lawmaker faulted Thursday's crackdown on small-scale traders, saying various stakeholders including MPs were not consulted.
He told the Star on the phone that a meeting should be held among all leaders and the traders' in a bid to find an alternative place for them to conduct business.

“When a person gets mad, he or she is taken to a mental hospital. When another gets sick, he or she is taken to the hospital. We need to unite and relocate the hawkers in an orderly manner so as to restore order and cleanliness in the city,” Jaguar said.
“If such evictions are not conducted in a structured manner, we could see a rise in crime in the city due to joblessness. I am not fighting the county government but just want to see all stakeholders doing things in a streamlined manner”.
Njagua popularly known as Jaguar observed that leaders should designate some of streets to hawkers to decongest the city and enhance a 24-hour economy.
Last month, the MP moved to court arguing the move by governor Mike Sonko to ban boda boda operators from the CBD was reached without any consultation and should, therefore, be lifted.
The county government issued a notice on January 22 warning of hefty fines, arrest and long jail terms for riders found contravening the directive.
The notice signed by acting County Secretary Leboo Morintat stated that any operator and passenger found contravening this law will be arrested.
The ban was imposed as a measure to curb the rising rates of crime in the CBD.
But Jaguar said the move is ill-informed and is also based on irrelevant considerations.
The MP says the ban is also limiting the economic rights of many riders who rely on ferrying passengers to and from the CBD.
