High Court judge Luka Kimaru has directed police to immediately release lawyer Miguna Miguna.

The judge noted on Tuesday that the Nasa politician remains free on the Sh50,000 anticipatory bail granted last week.

He said Miguna was within the court premises and that he would ensure his release.

"I have just been informed that Miguna is [here]. I will not leave until he is released."

But Kimaru added

the lawyer should appear at Kajiado Law Courts as directed by the magistrate.

Earlier, Kajiado resident magistrate Edwin Mulochi ruled that Miguna be taken to

as he requested.

The self-proclaimed National Resistant Movement general was charged there, days after he was arrested and held in secret.

More on this:

Kimaru further said the court should consider Miguna's bail application as he has been charged.

Opposition leaders led by Nasa chief Raila Odinga and Siaya senator James Orengo were at the court with people including businessman Jimmy Wanjigi.
