Wiper leader Kalonzo is ready to take oath as the people's deputy president and is not a coward as claimed by opposition MPs.

The Nasa principal said this on Tuesday amid severe criticism by leaders across the political divide and members of the public.

Kalonzo, Bungoma senator Moses Wetang'ula (Ford Kenya) and Musalia Mudavadi (Amani National Congress) did not attend Raila Odinga's self-inauguration on January 30.

Kalonzo declared his position after

presiding over the party's National Executive Council meeting.

He noted outstanding issues that he said need to be addressed before he is 'sworn-in'.

"How I wish I were able to do it right now. Taking oath is not an issue. We are not cowards.

There is no hindrance. We have to put our house in order."

On Friday, the National Super Alliance will meet all its elected leaders to address some of the thorny issues.

ANC, ODM and Ford Kenya will meet separately on Wednesday and Thursday ahead of this joint meeting.

The former vice president admitted wars in the coalition occasioned by his absence at Raila's swearing-in.

He however maintained that a strategy was in place and that the summit will soon give direction on his inauguration.

The leaders earlier said the delayed oath-taking was tactical.

Makueni governor and Wiper chairman Kivutha Kibwana added:

"We will have a meeting of the Nasa family to discuss some of the small things that could have spilled out in the moment of anger."
