A man died in an accident on Thika-Garissa Highway in Yatta, Machakos county, on Thursday.
The unidentified man died shortly after a speeding car it his motorcycle
at Mukalala area.
Yatta police boss Edward Changach said the 10.30 am accident occurred when the car's driver lost control after hitting a bump.
The car had been ferrying miraa from Matuu
"It hit the motorcycle which was heading in the opposite direction, killing the rider on the spot,” said Changach.
The officer said the driver was not hurt and that he fled immediately after the accident.
“We are looking for him," he said, and cautioned motorists against disobeying traffic rules.
