Five people died near Sigalagala Institute in Kakamega on Friday, when the boda boda they were on collided head-on with a salon car.
Witness David Okelo said he was on another boda boda when the accident occurred
on Kakamega-Kisumu road at about 7.30 am.
“They overtook us at a very high speed and as they attempted to turn right towards Sigalagala college, they collided with a matatu from Kisumu," he said.
"They all died on the spot,” he told The Star by phone.
In Baringo on Thursday, a boda boda passenger died after jumping off while the rider evaded a matatu.
The rider ended up hitting a roadside rail and sustaining head and hand injuries.
