A section of Mombasa Women MPs affiliated to Jubilee Party have told off opposition leader Raila Odinga over calls to boycott the repeat presidential election.

The MPS challenging the NASA chief to participate in the contest after CEO Ezra Chiloba went to a three week leave, the MPs on Friday said calling

for street protests during Election Day amounts to treason.

They vowed to ensure that people turn out in large number to vote for UhuRuto come Thursday next week.

Nominated senator Beth Mugo said Raila should call off Thursday nationwide demonstrations in its strongholds if he's truly a patriot.

"He should not dare call for protests, women will protect Uhuru's vote" she said.

Jubilee's plea to Raila came hours after President Uhuru Kenyatta warned of dire consequences against those planning to block Thursday vote.

Uhuru said right to peaceful demonstrate should not interfere with one to cast ballot.

Citing resignation of ex-IEBC commissioner Roselyne Akombe, Mugo said some individuals at the electoral body are colluding with NASA.

International entities are involved, too, she added.

Akombe bowed out saying IEBC is divided, citing impossibility in making crucial amendments because partisan vote wins.

She said for election to be free and fair, it has to be postponed until such a time environment is conducive.

She also said she is under threat.

Mugo said Akombe resigned to leave Kenya in limbo because "she is an American citizen".

Two days after IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati hinted at throwing the towel in if the commission remains divided, Mugo dared him.

"If Chebukati is patriotic, he should stand firm and conduct poll. He should not flee," she said.

Former Nairobi woman representative Rachel Shebesh said Jubilee is ready to swear-in Uhuru "without the help of anybody".

We shall have voted twice and we are tired, she said.

But only Chief Justice David Maraga or deputy CJ Philomena Mwilu can perform such function according to the constitution.
