EQUITY WINGS TO FLY COMPREHENSIVE SCHOLARSHIPS FOR SECONDARY SCHOOLS
Last year’s KCPE candidates with over 350 marks and from poor backgrounds are eligible to apply for the Wings to Fly scholarships The scholarships cater for school fees, pocket money, shopping, books and uniform for the four year education.
Only those students who would not afford to pay for their secondary school education because of extreme financial challenges will be shortlisted and interviewed for the scholarships. The shortlisting of the beneficiaries will be done today, followed by interviews tomorrow and Friday. Thereafter, home visits will be between January 10 and 13.
The 2016 cohort will all travel to Nairobi for induction on January 15, as part of their preparations to later go to the respective schools.
KCB Scholarship Fund
KCB Scholarship Fund provides scholarships for secondary school students in Kenya. KCB will this year award 240 scholarships to needy students who sat their KCPE last year.
Applicants should have scored high marks and come from needy households.
1. Get the scholarship application form from any KCB branch.
2. Complete the application form and attach the following;
Last year’s KCPE result slip
Admission letter from a national or provincial school
3. Applicants should bring their completed application forms to the respective interview locations.
4. Details of the interview locations and dates can be obtained from any KCB branch.
The scholarships will cover tuition fees, school uniforms, learning materials and mentorship activities in the four-year period.
The University of Gothenburg Study Scholarship
The University of Gothenburg Study Scholarship is intended for fee-paying applicants who have applied for admission, with a last application date of January 15, and been offered an admission to a master’s programme offered by the University of Gothenburg, starting Autumn semester 2016. The scholarship application period for the academic year 2016/2017 is February 1 to February 13. Further instructions along with the application form will be available at the official website in mid-January 2016.
Ampère Excellence Scholarships for International Students
The Ampère Scholarships of Excellence provide excellent international students with the opportunity to pursue one of the eligible Masters programmes offered at ENS de Lyon. You must be a foreign national, you must be 26 years old maximum at the application deadline. Candidate for admission in Masters Year 1 must provide proof that you have obtained a Licence (equivalent to 180 ECTS European credits) or an equivalent diploma/level recognised by the ENS de Lyon. Candidate for admission in Masters Year 2: provide proof that you have successfully reached Masters Year 1 level (equivalent to 240 ECTS European credits) or have attained an equivalent diploma/level recognised by the ENS de Lyon (e.g.Mphil). To apply, you must submit the application form with supporting documents by January 16.
East and South Africa Merit Undergraduate Scholarship 2016 at Sheffield University
There are three Merit Undergraduate Scholarships available for East and South African students.
Each scholarship is worth 50 per cent of the annual undergraduate tuition fee. This is guaranteed in the first year of study and is available in each subsequent year, excluding any years in industry or years abroad, subject to achieving 60 per cent or above in the previous academic year.
To be eligible for the scholarships applicants must be self-funding and classed as ‘Overseas’ for fee purposes and a national of or permanently domiciled in either: Kenya, Botswana, Malawi, Mauritius, South Africa, Tanzania, Zambia or Zimbabwe and apply for a study place by April 15, 2016 for entry in September 2016.
Applicants cannot apply for the scholarship before being offered a study place at Sheffield. The scholarship will be available only to applicants who have made the University of Sheffield their first or firm choice. The deadline for applications is April 22. Scholarship results will be announced on May 27.
