Known for some of the most powerful performances, actress Konkana Sen Sharma is now looking to direct following in the footsteps of her mother Aparna Sen. The actress is all set to make a Hinglish film titled Death at the Ganj starring Kalki Koechlin and Vikrant Massey.

Kalki who was seen in the film Ek Thi Daayan along with Konkana, revealed that she will be playing a 34 year old Anglo-Indian woman in Konkana’s upcoming thriller. She also mentioned that the film in question will be based in the 70s and will have Kalki draping a saree as well as sporting a lot of winter clothes. Though not much, Kalki will also be seen doing a few dialogues in Bengali and she will soon be starting preparations for the same. She also added that casting director Atul Mongia will be kick starting with workshops for the entire cast of the film this month.

Yet another actor who will be a part of the film is Konkana’s estranged husband Ranvir Shorey. A few days ago, he too announced that he will be supporting his ex-wife’s directorial venture Death at the Ganj but did not reveal any character details.

Dilwale boycott: Raj Thackery not against the film’s screening

Maharashtra Navnirman Sena president Raj Thackeray said that that he did not support a proposed boycott of Shah Rukh Khan’s Dilwale called by an affiliated unit of the MNS.

“I wish to make it clear that the MNS Chitrapat Sena’s (MNSCS) decision to boycott the film is not the official stand of the party,” Raj Thackeray said in a statement on December 15.

The statement came in the wake of MNSCS chief Amey Khopkar’s appeal to the masses not to patronise Dilwale, as Shah Rukh remained unmoved by the farmers’ plight in Maharashtra.

“While Shah Rukh donated Rs 1 crore to the flood-hit people of Chennai, he seems to have forgotten the drought-hit farmers of Maharashtra. We strongly condemn this,” Khopkar had said calling on viewers to boycott film’s release on December 18.

Raj Thackeray said that Shah Rukh must understand that after coming to Maharashtra, becoming big and earning millions, it is not right to forget the state, but said boycotting Dilwale was not the MNS’ official stand.

Dilwale, directed by Rohit Shetty also stars Kajol, Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon.
