Legendary singer Asha Bhosle has lost her elder son Hemant Bhosle. Hemant, 66, was suffering from a terminal disease and passed away on Saturday in Scotland.

However Ashatai, as she is affectionately called, was not informed of the tragedy immediately as she was to perform at a concert in Singapore.

This is the second offspring Asha has lost in three years. Coincidentally, Ashatai was performing live in Singapore when her daughter had ended her life.

On October 8, 2012, while Ashaji was performing at a live concert in Singapore, her daughter Varsha committed suicide by shooting herself. Ashaji returned to Mumbai in haste to face the tragedy.

By a bizarre coincidence, Asha was performing at a live concert in Singapore when her son Hemant passed away on September 26.

There was fear in the Mangeshkar-Bhosle family that Ashaji in her frail twilight years may not be able to take the death of a second progeny.

Hemant started off as a music composer in films like Anil Sharma’s Shradhanjali, Eshmayeel Shroff’s Agar and Taxi Taxi in which Hemant fulfilled his dream of bringing his mother and aunt together in the song Laayee Kahaan Ae Zindagi.

We wish the bereaved mother strength to bear the pain.

Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani: Ranbir & Katrina living up to the movie title!

Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif may be a lot more forthcoming now about their Ajab Prem but they were probably hoping to go mostly unnoticed, or at least un-photographed, in London where they were celebrating Ranbir’s birthday. But social media is an entire Ghazab Kahani by itself and what happens in London doesn’t stay in London, not when there’s Twitter to tell the tale.

Ranbir and Katrina happened to meet Pakistani actress Ayesha Khan while in London and she tweeted photos of the encounter.

Ranbir is shooting for Karan Johar’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil in London and Katrina appears to have jetted across to help celebrate his 33rd birthday, which was on September 28. Ranbir’s co-star Anushka Sharma is also filming in London and the film also stars Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who is yet to join the crew

Other than Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, Ranbir is looking forward to the release of Tamasha, in which he stars opposite Deepika Padukone, this November. He also has Jagga Jasoos with Katrina up his sleeve.

Akshaye Khanna back as villain

Akshaye Khanna who was last seen in the 2012 film Gali Gali Chor Hai disappeared from the film circuit since. However we now hear that the actor is set to make a comeback with the Rohit Dhawan directed film Dishoom. In fact we hear that Akshaye will be seen playing the main antagonist in the film.

Akshaye Khanna’s role will be that of a flamboyant smart-talking villain who rattles off one wisecrack after another. Though Akshaye has previously played villainous roles, in Dishoom he will be garbed in flashy, slightly over-the-top wardrobe as an Afghan man.

Produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, Dishoom is said to have some high octane action sequences. Featuring Varun Dhawan and Jacqueline Fernandez, the film is expected to release in April 2016.
