A dual carriage road will be built between Kitale and Suam towns on the Kenya-Uganda border to expand international trade, a Trans Nzoia official has said.
Speaking to the Star in Kitale town yesterday, Infrastructure executive Wycliffe Kiiya said the project will start next February.
It will be done jointly with the Kenya National Highways Authority, the Kenya Rural Roads Authority and the Kenya Urban Roads Authority.
Kiiya said on completion, the road will connect Kitale, Matisi, Endebess and Suam townships.
“To reduce congestion at the Kitale-Eldoret and Kitale-Webuye junctions, the county government will construct a flyover,” the executive said.
He said it will be built in conjunction with the three authorities.
