RISHI KAPOOR ENJOYS ‘TAYYAB ALI’

Taiyyab Ali is considered an iconic song from the soundtrack of Manmohan Desai’s Amar Akbar Anthony that starred Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Singh. So when Imran Khan reenacted the song’s peppy version in the upcoming Once Upon A Time In Mumbai Dobara (OUATIMD), he was quite keen on knowing what Rishi Kapoor thought of the new version.

Rishi was all praise for Imran’s work on the track and said he’d never have imagined that one of his iconic hit tunes would be re-engineered in such a peppy manner.

When contacted, Imran said, “I was worried about Chintuji’s reaction. ‘Tayyab Ali’ is an iconic song and reworking that comes with a lot of responsibility. To my relief, he likes the song. His compliment means a lot to me as I can’t ask for a better stamp of validation.”

OUATIMD is expected to release on August 15, on the same day as India celebrates its Independence Day.

SONAM KAPOOR AUDITIONS FOR HOLLYWOOD

It was bound to happen at some point or another that the daughter of Anil Kapoor of Slumdog Millionaire fame would be noticed by Hollywood. After a spate of success with both Bhaag Milkha Bhaag and Ranjhana at the Box Office, it seems like Sonam’s career is riding the high waves and has been approached by major Bollywood directors who are keen on casting her in upcoming projects but Sonam seems to be dreaming of bigger things.

The Times of India recently reported that Sonam has been busy auditioning for her dream role in the fifth Hollywood instalment of Pirates of the Caribbean and act alongside Johnny Depp. Needless to say, Anil pulled some strings and nudged her in the right direction with his Hollywood contacts at a celebrity management company in America and Sonam practically breezed through the auditions.

So it looks like that Sonam will also be following her father’s footsteps into Hollywood as well and we may just be seeing her in one of Hollywood’s biggest releases of 2015.
