DJ Fatxo has won the Mugithi Artist of the Year East Africa Award in E360 Awards' fourth edition 2022-23.
Fatxo was nominated in February and asked his fans to vote for him.
The award comes as the police prepare to exhume the body of interior designer Jeff Mwathi, whom they suspect was murdered.
Mwathi fell off the 12th floor of a building where the Kikuyu musician lives in Roysambu in February.
Mwathi's mother Hanna Wacuka hopes her son will get justice.
The mother of two told Word Is that the family has been guarding her son's grave.
"If we will get justice by exhuming his body, I am at peace with that. I feel okay since even if he is not exhumed, we still don't have him. We are hopeful to God that my son will get justice so that his soul can rest," she said.
