

Inflation Highlights for October 2025 show that the Overall Inflation Rate was 4.6%. Inflation is calculated based on the change in prices between October 2025 and October 2024.
The core Consumer Price Index basket, which represents the long-term trend, accounted for 81.1% of the overall Consumer Price Index, with its Core Inflation registering at 2.7%.
Key contributors to core inflation included Sugar at 22.6%, Cooking Oil (Salad) at 3.3%, and Wheat Flour-white at 1.2%.
In contrast, Non-Core Inflation, often influenced by transient or supply-side factors like weather and international oil prices, stood much higher at 9.9%.
This segment was primarily driven by dramatic price increases in Tomatoes at 37.3% and Cabbages at 20.3%. Other notable non-core items included Petrol, Potatoes (Irish), and Gas/LPG, each rising by 2.3% and 1.6%, respectively.
